Gareth A. Selwood's life is a true International story. It's a story that begins in Europe, where he was born. " I was born in Luton, Bedfordshire, England." said Gareth, without a trace of accent. "But, we grew up across the channel in Brussels, Belgium." This move from the countryside of England to the mainland of Europe would relocate him and his family within short distance from a riding stable. This is where horses would enter his life, and forever change its direction.
"I lived on the same road as a riding stable, where I began riding lessons at the age of 5, " he continued. "I rode
for 10 years before moving to the US at age 15." Before the move, he was schooled in Dressage and show jumping and competed as a Junior Rider. He also attended the National Centre for Sports and Equitation of Belgium every summer and, just before moving in 1977, he received his PC Certification. Barbs, Arabians, and Belgian Warmbloods were his breeds of choice.
