Elim Church Centre - Home
Description
Selly Oak Elim Church was founded in 1936 (this year is the church's 70th anniversary), born out of Birmingham's Pentecostal Revival of the 1930s. The church first met in people's homes and then in the Institute building on Bristol Road before moving to a permanent site in Alton Road. When the church outgrew those premises, it swapped buildings with St. Wulstan's in 1983. Today, we meet at Elim Church Centre on Exeter Road (this year is the building's 100th anniversary).
We are a group of people from various walks of life who are committed to living-out our faith in the context of today's society. We seek new and creative ways to demonstrate God's love and mercy. We believe that the Church has been given the task of announcing the good news of God's Kingdom and bringing the reign and reality of Jesus into people's lives.
We want to equip the church to do the works of Jesus - to be an active workforce, not a passive audience.
