In the early Nineties, the company’s founders recognized the need for security tools that could assist network management professionals with attaining security compliance standards, improving accurate identification and remediation of network vulnerabilities, and automation of tedious manual processes.
Security tools available at the time were mostly focused on identifying malicious code, but few focused on identifying the targeted vulnerabilities, remediating those vulnerabilities, and documenting the processes with change tracking and audit trail reports.
The first tools developed, while participating with Rhino9 – a nationally recognized security team - was an application called Chronicle, a service pack/hotfix query engine. However, more sophisticated technology was needed. One that had intelligence, which could identify patch dependencies and automate the remediation and reporting functions.
