Description
I was born in 1981 in Hoogezand. When I was a child I was already interested in finding different kind of information. I looked in atlases to find countries in Europe and I was interested in the main capitals of these countries. Also I had fun to look at the history and all other kind of information about soccer. Especially pictures and information about stadiums and famous soccer players drew my attention. Of course I played soccer myself to. From the past till now, the drive to find different kinds of information has led to the creation of "Searching on the Web"
Purpose
What is the main purpose of Searching on the Web? When I look around in my surroundings I notice that many people don't make effective use of the internet to find the information they're looking for. They don't know where to search, how to search and what kind of possibilities the internet gives. I've built this site to help these people finding their way on the digital highway.
Content
What kind of content does this site provide? At first of course I have mentioned the perhaps most known feature of the internet; search engines. Also I mention other search resources which can be very helpful to find the right information. Examples of these resources are weblogs, directories and virtual libraries. Most people never heard of them. To give people the right way in the digital quest to information, I've compiled a list of 10 search tips. An other, less serious section is called: "search stuff". Here I give some links to interesting and funny stuff about search. To give people an idea of the events that happen in the world of search I've selected some interesting news articles from the web, which after a few weeks will be stored in the search archive.
