Since we began in 1994, we have tried to cater to all levels of developer experience in our meetings... beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Except when we have a guest speaker that takes up two hours (7-9pm), this is how we try to design our meetings:

7pm: Beginner/intermediate level topic. If we have demos of third-party products, we will usually put them in this time slot
