Title

Scottish Pubs - Scotland's directory of pubs and bars

Description

The minutes of the original meeting of the Association, now held by the Scottish Brewing Archive, record a Special Meeting of the Edinburgh Brewers Association held at the Caledonian Railway Station Hotel, Princes Street, Edinburgh on Thursday 13th December 1906 at which the members pass a motion to become The Brewers Association of Scotland.

The BAS subsequently became the Brewers’ and Licensed Retailers’ Association of Scotland (BLRAS), before becoming the SBPA. The Association’s members are Scotland's brewing and large pub companies representing the licensed trade industry in Scotland. The main aim of the Association is to contribute to the economic and social wellbeing of Scotland through employment, investment and training. Our parent association is the British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA) and our members account for 1,500 of the 5,200 licensed public houses in Scotland.

SBPA will be undertaking a range of activities during 2006 to mark its centenary and the contribution of Scotland’s brewers and its licensed trade to Scotland’s social and economic life over the last one hundred years.
