Scottish Fiddling Revival www.scottishfiddling.org was established to preserve and promote traditional Scottish fiddle music around the world. The original distinctive style of Scottish fiddling developed many, many years ago in the Lowlands of Scotland. Through the effort of those who have come to appreciate this style of playing, this tradition has continued to exist for centuries. One of the foremost ways Scottish FIRE helps to preserve this Scottish fiddling tradition is by fostering and sanctioning Scottish fiddle competitions. We set the rules and sanction the many Scottish fiddling competitions held in the US, Canada, and other parts of North America. Scottish FIRE also certifies the judges for local and national competitions, and monitors the annual National Competition held in the fall. Scottish Fiddling Revival is a non-profit organization established in 1975. In order to help preserve the Scottish fiddling tradition, Scottish Fiddling Revival maintains a list of active fiddling clubs around the world. We also maintain a list of links to related sites.
