Since March 2000, The Three Horseshoes has been under new management, and we have a vast experience in catering. In the past we've even entertained Princess Margaret during our time at the Theatre Royal in Bath, so you are in safe hands!
In 2002 we were nominated amongst the top six pubs nationwide in The Publican Newspaper awards for three categories: Family Pub of the Year, Newcomers of the Year, and Marketing Pub of the Year. It was the first time that a pub had ever been nominated three times in the prestigious national awards, and we are extremely proud of our achievement. In November 2002 we were nominated for two awards at the Publican Food awards, Childrens Food Pub of the year and Wine Pub of the Year. Now in 2003 we have been nominated again for Family Pub of the year in The Publican Newspaper awards.We believe in good, old-fashioned service which is why you will always be treated as guest in our own home, not just a customer. Our philosophy is to be relaxed and informal, but attentive!
Complete with beams and inglenook fireplaces, this thatched 18th Century coaching inn has had an interesting past. The pub's close proximity to RAF Coltishall made it the favoured drinking spot during World War 2 for many airmen and Battle of Britain flying aces, including "Cats Eyes" Cunningham and the famous Douglas Bader. Just a few hundred yards from the end of the runway, the pub is the perfect place for a bit of plane spotting! The pub also has more than it's fair share of ghosts - including a haunted chimney (yes, it's the one in the picture on the left!)…
