Our agency was founded by Everett Schmenk in 1933. In 1970, Everett's son, Robert C. Schmenk joined his father's growing business. In 1984, Everett's granddaughter, Cindy Fortman, joined the agency. In 1992, Craig Schmenk, a grandson, joined the agency at the Kalida office.
Over the years, our Agency has purchased several local insurance agencies to expand and enhance our insurance services - O. Scheirloh, L. Huntsman, L. Macke, F. Sunderhaus, E. Schmenk Agencies and Erhart-Stechschulte Insurance Agency in Kalida.
Since that time, our Agency has grown to include a professional staff of 8 insurance specialists; 6 at our Ottawa location and 2 at the Kalida office. Currently, Everett Schmenk Insurance Agency, Inc. serves the insurance needs of about 2000 individuals and families and the insurance needs of 500 businesses and farms throughout Northwest Ohio. Our office includes, in addition to our Office Management Computer System, a special rating computer so that instant comparisons can be made
