Scales & Tails was established in 1997. Owned & Run by Dave Cooke an experienced herpetologist. My sole purpose is to offer people quality animals backed by correct husbandry advise .Scales& Tails has a network of contacts worldwide so if we are unable to answer a specific question we probably know a man who can.

At Scales & Tails you won't find any Large & Hard to Cater for Reptiles, such as Burmese Pythons, Anacondas, Bosc Monitors Iguana's & certain boa species. What you will find is quality captive bred medium sized reptiles, which in my opinion are far more enjoyable and have less strain on the wallet. Are you really ready for a 15 foot snake that takes 2-3 adults to put back into it's enclosure, or a 5 foot iguana that likes to mate you given the opportunity when it's out of it's enclosure. Are you ready to give up your spare room to house such a beast.

We urge you to think carefully about the reptile you choose, how much room does it need? Can I afford the heating & feeding bills? Can I afford the vets bills if it gets sick?
