ScaleFinder | Visual guide to scales and modes for guitar
Description
Excerpted from the website:
- A bit of history
- Nine years ago I decided that I really ought to learn some other scales than just the pentatonic minor in E. Perhaps somewhat mistakenly, I thought that learning more scales than everyone else would secure my place alongside the guitar legends in the rock hall of fame. In an effort to help aid this process, and being the eternal procrastinator that I am, I immediately sat down at my computer and started doing something else. However, I did eventually came up with something, a program that would display the notes for various scales in any key, as dots on an image of a guitar fingerboard. And so was born ScaleFinder the original. Feeling rather pleased, I showed it to my friends who thought it was a good idea. But in those dark days of not really knowing anything about internet marketing, ScaleFinder quickly found its way shunted onto the sidings of old backup CDs where it has lain ever since, growing older with each day and more overgrown with weeds and moss with each year that passes.
