- Creative Timber constructions was established in 1996 because of a lack of sufficient traditional joinery in the market today. Trevor Grassam is the sole owner of this business and is based in Cairns Queensland. I have been up in Cairns for many years and I have earned a reputation of being able to build furniture for a specific need or requirement. The main goal of the company is to supply quality handmade furniture to the exact requirement of the customer. As my company is a one man operation I am able to concentrate and spend more time on each project. I specialize in only the best quality woods and do not use any chip board, Medium density fibre board (MDF) or Veneer as I believe that this is why the furniture of today does not last like it should. I choose to miss match the timbers grains to achieve a different tone in color and make the piece more obvious that it is handmade and quality. If you buy one of my works it is with you for life and will always hold its value. I have looked around modern furniture and have walked away shaking my head. Mass produced furniture that I have seen is poorly made and is aimed at the lower end market.
