San Juan Composites was founded in May of 1998 by a core group of Pacific Northwest yacht builders to build our line of SanJuanYachts® using a combination of traditional and cutting edge boat building technologies. Our yachts are proudly built by hand in the United States by our team of boat builders, offering unequaled traditional and high tech expertise. Overall we average 15 years of yacht construction experience per employee.
Partners Donald Campbell and Randy McCurdy gained their experience building custom motor yachts at Admiral Marine Works as General Manager and Production Manager. Randy had previously been Production Manager with Westport Shipyard for 14 years. Donald spent 8 years racing and building racing yachts for the America's Cup races.
The focus of San Juan Composites is the construction of high-end composite yachts and structures utilizing state of the art production methods. Vacuum assisted resin infusion and 5-axis computer cut (CNC) tooling are used to yield high strength composite structures with unmatched accuracy. Our infusion process produces strong, lightweight parts and provides an improved working environment in addition to being friendly to the external environment. All structural composite parts on our yachts are resin infused Corecell® cored laminates, including the hull, deck, pilothouse, bulkheads and hatches. Our team of craftsmen use their expertise to build our entire yachts in-house for our own discerning clientele.
