In over thirty years of art, painting and drawing, Sandra Gates has studied with many teachers. Among those are: Jeanne Dobie, Elizabeth Ross, Maude Gatewood, Charles Reid, Blaine Hall, Everett Kivette and the renowned watercolorist Zoltan Szabo.
Sandra is a past president of the Charlotte Artist Society and a past Co-Director of Painting in the Mountains in Burnsville, NC.
With a sketchbook always nearby, she often sketches people in waiting rooms and airports and later transfers the sketches to canvas or watercolor.
