In September 2000 Sally and her family moved from Oxfordshire to St Ives where she now has a studio at the top of the house overlooking St Ives Bay and Porthminster Beach below.
Since moving to Cornwall Sally's work is very much influenced by this new life, literally on the edge of the sea. Whether working in oil or acrylics, on canvas, paper or board, her abstract work has a quite distinctive style, using texture and a particular, subtle palette. Her 'writings' series involves the use of textured papers and scraps of personal letters - referring back to her early work with textiles using manipulated fabrics and stitch.
