Saldutto Watercolours Police Art
Description
Two main passions define Anthony Saldutto; law enforcement and art. Born in Toronto, Ontario. Anthony Saldutto, moved to Italy at a very young age following the death of his father. Nurturing an early, inherent love and talent for sketching, Anthony's first remembered success still adorns the walls of his former high school in Italy. At the age of fifteen, Anthony returned to Canada and made his home in Etobicoke. Art was very much part of his ambition but learning the English language and academic studies took precedence in his full time curriculum. Anthony pursued his talent by studying art through part-time art lessons. He followed this with enrollment in a post secondary course in Graphic Design at Sheridan College.
By this time, however, law enforcement had attracted Anthony's attention and after two and a half years he quit college to pursue a career with the Toronto Police Service. Over the next several years, Anthony focused his energies and dedication to building what is now a distinguished career as a Police Officer. Anthony has been awarded the Ontario Medal of Bravery, the R.C.M.P. Commissioner Award, named twice Policeman of the Month and compiled numerous other recommendations over the past 27 years. His commitment to his career left little spare time and by now, he and his wife were raising three small children. Though paint and paintbrushes were put aside for awhile, his passion to paint still burned, albeit by necessity, at low flame.
Slowly, Anthony returned to his art. At first he began to experiment in oils and acrylics but after a while, found that watercolours best expressed the images he wanted to create.
