SAFEHealth - Secure Architecture For Exchanging Health Information
Description
Excerpted from the website:
- History of SAFE Health
- SAFE Health was conceived in the summer of 2003 by the leading healthcare organizations in Central Massachusetts who have a history of partnerships and collaboration. In 2004 we received a $1.5 million grant from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), a division of Health and Human Services, which facilitated the development of SAFE Health. Larry Garber MD, an Internist and Medical Director for Informatics at Fallon Clinic, is the Principal Investigator for this grant. Val Slayton MD, MPP, MBA is the Chief Medical Officer of HealthAlliance Hospital and their Principal Investigator on the SAFE Health project. Our intent under SAFE Health is to improve clinical outcomes, maximize patient safety, enhance service to patients, and reduce healthcare costs while maintaining patient privacy and security.
