birthday in 2006. Established in Swindon in 1986, we have undergone many changes from our railway heritage days to evolve into what the organisation is today. There are now four main divisions, each operating under their own separate brand to reflect the different offerings.
GWE Workspace provides office and workshop space for small businesses, GWE Research offers consultancy and research work for any community or economic development project, Business Link provides advice to small businesses and GWE Professional Development specialises in providing training and development to managers, directors and other employees of small businesses. GWE is involved in Berkshire, Wiltshire and Swindon communities at all levels with businesses, charitable organisations and the voluntary sector.
Our history
GWE was established in 1986 in Swindon to respond to a major local employment problem following the closure of the railway works. An independent company limited by guarantee, we plough our profits back into the development and delivery of services to the local community.
