- Risk Placement Services, Inc. of Lexington is a managing general agent (MGA) and wholesale broker of specialty property and casualty insurance products written primarily in the states of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia. RPS is the merger of two former competing general agencies in Lexington, KY. In December 2001, Equity Insurance Managers, Inc. was acquired by Risk Placement Services, Inc. Equity was founded in 1967. In January 2003, W. E. Kingsley Co. was acquired by RPS and in early 2003 the offices of Kingsley were merged into Equity's office. Kingsley was founded in 1944.
