Rocky Point Sailing Association
Description
Rocky Point Sailing Association was founded in 1995, branching off from the Centennial Sailing Club, whose members were concentrating on larger cruising and racing sailboats.
RPSA is a 'dinghy' sailing club - small sailboats, generally 18 feet and under. The association owns a fleet of approximately 40 sailboats, which are used and maintained by the club members.
For over 20 years, the association (and its members) have been involved in teaching sailing to youths and adults, as well as hosting competitive racing programs. RPSA has also been responsible for running the SD43 outdoor education program, teaching sailing and canoeing skills to students, as well as a marine biology/ecology program, and water safety programs.
