About Roth Carpet
Roth Carpet was established in Pittsburgh, PA in 1936. A.J. Roth and Bernard Roth started the business as Roth Rug Cleaning. While struggling to make a living in the post-depression years, they cleaned carpets and upholstery among other services. On St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1936, Pittsburgh was hit with terrible storms and floods. All of downtown Pittsburgh was under 12 feet of muddy water and suddenly there was a huge demand for rug cleaning. This natural disaster launched the business, which grew to include new carpet sales, furniture, drapery and related sales and installation.
A.J. Roth and Bernard Roth were the grandfather and father of Richard Roth, the current President of Roth Carpet Company. The business now consists of four super-warehouse stores that sell and install everything for your floors.
