Over two decades, Professor Emanuel Rosen has been established as one of the worlds leading eye surgeons and has pioneered several techniques in the UK for application in refractive surgery. In 1995 Professor Rosen was the first U.K. surgeon to perform LASIK for the permanent correction of moderate degrees of short sight (myopia). In 1996 he conducted the first U.K. trials of the Keravision Inc USA intra-corneal ring for the permanent correction of lower degrees of myopia as part of the U.S. FDA trial. In 1993 he attended demonstration of the implantable contact lens in Moscow in the clinic of Professor S. Fyoderov and followed this with a special training course Mendoza Argentina in the clinic of Dr Roberto Zaldivar. He performed the first implantable contact lens surgery in the UK in 1996 and was responsible for training other U.K. surgeons in the techniques involved thereafter.
From 2000 - 2004 Professor Rosen was clinical director of Boots Laser Eye Clinics and supervised the clinical activities of 9 clinics nationwide. Now Professor Rosen with an experienced team of accredited consultant ophthalmic surgeons, Mr. Wayne Crewe-Brown, Mr Paul Rosen, and Mr. Mark Wevill, provide a wealth of experience for the treatment of cataracts, phakic lens and replacement lens surgery, LASIK, LASEK and general ophthalmic conditions.
We are able to offer consultations, advice and treatment on a wide range of eye problems in addition to the above – for example, cataracts, diabetes and glaucoma. Our clinic goes beyond the scope of LASIK and treatments are available for virtually all prescriptions.
