Description
The Coven of the Rose Moon was established on the Rose Moon June 25, 1994, in Toano, Virginia (8 miles west of Williamsburg, click for Toano in Yahoo maps). We are an eclectic coven following our own tradition which draws from, but not limited to, the British Isles, Northern European, Reformed Alexanderian and Native American traditions. We strive for self-authored verse in our rituals. We are a working coven, regularly setting goals and working for them magically according to the wheel of the year. We emphasize continuous education, both as a group, and on our individual paths. We place great importance on our responsibility to community relations and representing our faith as the positive, loving, spiritual path that it is. We are listed in our public library's directory of community resources and services. Our activities are limited to members and those seeking membership and invited guests!
Our High Priestess has 16 years experience. She started out through a friendship with Herman Slater (author of "Pagan Rituals 1, 2, and 3") and was in two covens prior to Rose Moon. She also has a masters of religion from "Our Lady of Enchantment" Seminary of Wicca; studying under Lady Sabrina (author of "Reclaiming the Power", "Secrets of Modern Witchcraft Revealed" and "The Caldron of Transformation") and was initiated by "Our Lady of Enchantment" and given legal ordination from them in April 1999 and is now a legally recognized minister in Virginia, and able to perform legal weddings.
