Some remember her fondly as the "Root Beer Lady" while others recall her as the "Nightingale of the Wilderness" or simply, Dorothy. Dorothy carved out her legacy in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) located within the Quetico-Superior National Forest.
