Description
We are Patricia and Otto Studhalter. We met in Aspen Colorado where we decided to combine our lives. Otto was born in Switzerland and speaks several languages fluently. After collectively living in Aspen and the surrounding area for over 20 years, we came to the conclusion that Aspen had lost the “hometown feel” we had loved so much. It was time for a major lifestyle change and the decision was made to move to a tropical island with all the ambience of island living.
We then started a list of requirements that would insure our future happiness. Having traveled to many places over the years, we chose to find an island that would be affordable, have a stable government that would allow us to actually own our own land (not lease), and would be expatriate-friendly. We found that perfect place - Roatan - and after making contact with a couple of realtors, we decided to fly down and see for ourselves.
They showed us a variety of properties all around the island and we found exactly what we wanted in our price range. By then, we had fallen in love with Roatan and the people. It was just a matter of time before we bid farewell to our home in Colorado and made the big move.
