- The Owner of River Mountain Action Rafting, Roger Mogford, went as a paying guest on a rafting trip with another outfitter back in the late 1970s. He loved the sport, and felt he could do a better job in terms of customer service and convenience than he had experienced with the company with whom he had gone. He kept in contact with the guide, John Joseph, who had taken him down the river, and eventually hired him as a manager to assist him in setting up the business as a quality operation. John did well and was instrumental in the initial stages of our growth, but he wished to move on and run a variety of rivers, so by the end of the season, Maria Dean, who had been John's campground assistant took over as Camp Manager, and has been with us ever since
