River Valley Equipment Sales Ltd. was founded over 20 years ago. In 1979, Robert "Bud" Nowicki, decided to start a company that would provide Albertans with heavy construction equipment for rent. This niche in the heavy equipment market gave Bud and River Valley Equipment Sales Ltd. over 20 prosperous years of business. This company was built on the foundation of supply and demand. Once realizing there was a greater demand for rental equipment than there was a supply, River Valley Equipment Sales Ltd. blossomed.
In August, 2005 RVS was acquired by Emeco Limited, an international earthmoving equipment trading company based in Australia. Emeco's Chief Executive Officer, Laurie Freedman, believes RVS is a very sound business which will give the Emeco Group a great platform from which we can develop growth opportunities in the Canadian resources and construction sectors, particularly in coal mining and the rapidly developing tar sands projects in Alberta. We feel the Emeco and RVS business model has enormous potential to assist contractors and mine owners enhance their returns.
RVS will continue to operate under their existing banner. But now, with the benefit of additional resources available from the parent group, will grow to provide increased services for the earthmoving industry in Canada
