February, 2002: This is the first date I have to my web-site. It actually started as a place that I could put the schedule, in case I needed to refer to it at any time. Eventually, I started handing out the site address and people were sending me questions. Therefore, I figured why not turn this little reference site into a public service?
During this time, I was struggling over how to organize the web-site: do I list the refurbishment schedule by closing date or opening date? I had a lot of e-mail requesting both. Therefore, I found a compromise; I offered both.
March, 2002: Eventually, I started to realize that my site need more interaction and less work for the guest. I decided to go head and select a schedule for the default page, but make the other format only a click away. It was also during this time that I started taking pictures of the refurbishments so guests could get an idea of what was happening.
