Richard received his Master of Social Work (MSW) degree at the University of Washington . He has been a licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and working in the substance abuse field for over twenty years. He has been working in mental health treatment for over ten years. He has received training in Reality Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and is a hypnotherapist. He has held positions such as CD Counselor and Program Manager, Psychiatric Social Worker, Advanced Mental Health Clinician and has been in private practice for over fifteen years.
His philosophy centers on individuals taking control of their lives and becoming empowered. Often, a person’s thinking and past beliefs get in their way. With effective skills and tools, they are able to focus on their goals and make progress in their lives; especially in the area of interpersonal relationships.
