Thanks for visiting my wedding and portrait photography website. My approach is to tell stories with photographs. I just love to make photographs, and I hope it shows in my work. My goal is to create photographs that touch something deep inside the viewer, that tell the truth about the subject, and that are beautiful and classic. People today are visually sophisticated, seeking artistic and insightful family and personal imagery like those they see in magazines and art galleries. My commercial photography (which you are invited to view at www.richpomerantz.com) is regularly commissioned and licensed by discerning media and corporate clients. My portraits are never stiff. I take the time necessary to capture the personality and relationships of my subjects. I can shoot in the studio or outdoors, at my location or yours. I am always asked by prospective brides whether I shoot wedding photojournalism. This is the buzz word these days. The problem is that almost all wedding photographers now claim to offer photojournalistic photography, regardless of whether they really do. I want my photographs to tell the emotional story of your day. Hopefully you will look past the labels and judge the pictures by how they resonate with you. What style they are called is irrelevant. What counts is whether the photographs tell a true story as opposed to a pretentious or contrived one, and whether they are beautiful. I personally photograph every wedding we book, using a mix of black and white and color. Some clients want all black and white, some want all color. Most leave it up to me to decide what works best. While I travel to photograph anywhere in the United States and many places abroad, most of the weddings I photograph are in New England and New York City. A little over half of the weddings I shoot in New England are for clients from out of the area. Many clients will actually book their weddings after only a visit to this website and a few phone calls. Of course, I would love to meet you and share more images if you are going to be in the area. After the wedding, all of the photos are posted to a private web address for the enjoyment of you and your friends and family. Photos can be browsed and bought directly from a secure shopping cart, so you do not have to become an order taker. You will also receive proofs bound for easy carrying and viewing, perfect for showing off to friends.
