The Red Bird Reader program is an early literacy mentoring program, which lays an effective basis for all forms of academic learning. The program targets students in kindergarten and first grade who are English Language Learners (ELL) and at-risk learners. Trained fourth and fifth graders meet one-on-one with kindergarteners and first graders four times a week for thirty minutes before or after school.
