Original artwork gallery and store: Red Sector Art

Description

Red Sector Art (RSA) was founded in 2000 by Enrico Salvini, original artwork representative for Italian artists Giovanna Casotto, Fernando Caretta, Giorgio Comolo, Tom Porta and Saverio Tenuta and Argentinian artists Quique Alcatena, Leandro Fernandez, Gabriel Ippoliti and Eduardo Risso.

Formerly founded in 1994 as Ultimate Art (UA), the name has been changed to Red Sector Art (a tip-of-the-hat to Canadian band Rush, writer of the song Red Sector A) in order to avoid confusion with another art dealer and to score its own .com domain.

UA produced some collectors items --namely a Cerebus statue and t-shirt, a trading cards set, a Sin City statue which only saw partial release-- to support the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund and a few prints by artists Dan Brereton, Alex Horley and Terry Moore, but intensive web-orientation has always played a major part in UA/RSA business, and the "one artist, one website" (as opposed to the "collective website" approach of most dealers) strategy embraced early on, implied abandoning the manufacturing side to concentrate on each artist's Internet needs.
