Description
Terry McCann (aka "Red Dawg") first came into country music, as a fan, after seeing Willie Nelson's movie, "Honeysuckle Rose." The first country concert he went to shortly after that was, of course, Willie Nelson & Family. The next concert was The Judds and he was hooked from then on. He even got to meet the Judds - on stage!
Terry began photographing concerts shortly after that and has been doing it for about ten years. His first client was the popular Ponderosa Park in northeastern Ohio and he is currently the house photographer for several venues. He shoots most of the country concerts in northern Ohio.
He is also field photographer for the International Fan Club Organization and has shot seven of the IFCO Funfests. He began shooting the TNN/Music City News Award Shows in 1995. At that show, he was the winner of a Gibson guitar and a trip to the Award Show. He says it was the thrill of a lifetime to be on the Opry stage receiving an "award." In 1998, Terry retired from a long career as a public school music teacher to devote full time to country concert photography. He has photographed most of the country artists over the past few years and will go just about anywhere in the country to get good concert shots.
