As a journalist, Don Jordan has written his weekly newspaper outdoors column, Inside Outdoors, since 1973 when he worked for the now-defunct Bloomington
Courier-Tribune. The column has appeared in the Bloomington Herald-Times and other newspapers since 1975. He has been an active member of the Outdoor Writers Assn. of America since 1973.
Jordan served as a corresponding editor of Environment magazine and has written for a wide variety of outdoor, sports and environmental publications. He has received reporting awards from the Audubon Society, the Izaak Walton League and United Press International. He was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in 1976 for his investigative reporting on PCBs discharged in Bloomington, Ind., by Westinghouse Electric Corp. As an educator, Jordan taught journalism and anthropology at Indiana University and the University of Wisconsin at Superior, and was a faculty member at Indiana University's College For Gifted and Talented Children.
