- Read Caravans was founded in 1986 in the small village of Read near Burnley. There, we traded new Avondale caravans and a small selection of used caravans until August 1994, when Mark and Denise Holden bought the company. They set about expanding sales and the business in general by installing a new shop and offices within a year. Business showed steady growth and with the introduction of Bailey Caravans late in 1996, when we found the business had outgrown the site.
