- CFXU is Antigonish’s own FM campus-community radio station. We are a non-profit student-run 5-Watt developmental station with high hopes of increasing our wattage in August of 2006. Being a campus-community station means that we provide Antigonish and the St. Francis Xavier campus with an alternative to public radio (the CBC) and local commercial stations. Unbeknownst to most of our listening audience, CFXU operates primarily on a budget that is supported by Student-Union fees, membership fees, and the generosity of StFX Alumni. Local businesses help to support the on-going proliferation of CFXU through brief on-air advertisements, though these represent a limited portion of revenue.
