QuasiKennel was founded in 2007 to develop and promote a novel dog enclosure, known as the QuasiKennel Puppy Crib. The crib was originally created by Dr. Michael Baker and his wife, Pamela. An objective of designing the QuasiKennel was to create a container that would be comfortable for their dog, Sankofa. The Bakers desired a container that was easy to clean, easily stored, and aesthetically pleasing in their home. Plastic and metal containers, in contrast, did not meet these objectives.
