- I have spent the majority of my adult life in the world of medical imaging using radioactive material to diagnose or treat a wide variety of medical conditions. My transition into Home Inspections began after an purchase of a nightmare home. It looks like I did all the wrong things before the acquisition of this home that could possibly be made. After the purchase, I found termite damage that was not visible at the purchase time, or so I was told, and started looking into ways to inspect homes. I researched information about Thermal Imaging and all the uses for this technology in a home setting. I attended my certification classes, did my field project on my own home and received my Level 1 Thermography certification. I then choose to continue with another class on Home Thermal Imaging and Weatherization held by The Infrared Training Center. (FLIR). After completion of this further schooling I decided to not stop there with my education and completed my traditional Home Inspection classes. My thought was to be able to incorporate the technology of Thermal Imaging into the field of Home Inspections. There are many similarities between dealing with clients having a Home Inspection and those undergoing tests for Heart disease or Cancer. I have learned over the years that sometimes it it not what you say to a client but putting everything into its' proper perspective.
