- purpleturtle.co.uk was born during the long night watches whilst sailing from Britain to South America and back with my wife and three daughters, aged 6, 8 and 11. Great fun was had by all (at times!), but there was still an awful lot of time to fill whilst sailing. The favourite game on board was 'shops', but what started as a bookshop rapidly evolved into a newsagent/travel agent/bank/cafe/hair dressing salon, and finally internet sales.
