Pump House Brewery - Moncton

Description

ABOUT THE PUMP HOUSE

The Pump House Brewery today is a group of beer brewing and bar/catering business, it was opened as a brewpub in downtown Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada in 1999 by the co-owners Shaun Fraser, a local fire department chief, and his wife Lilia, both have since won outstanding entrepreneurships for their remarkable success. They debuted in style on New Year's Eve with the first new beer of the Millenium. The famous Swiss chef Kurt Wermelinger has been leading the kitchen team since its openning.

The beer quality took another great step forward when Master Brewer Daniel Girard, newly graduated from VLB Berlin, took over the management of all beer production duties in August 2001, since then he has designed all the new products and redesigned all the old. The Brewpub grew so popular that expansion was necessary. In July 2002, a brewing/bottling plant was built outside the city centre and production began in the same year. A gausthaus/restaurant was also established later on the plant site, called the Barn Yard BBQ.

Brewer Qian Zhang joined the brewing team in early 2003 and now is exclusively in charge of producing smaller batch regular beers and all seasonal beers, he is also responsible for the company's website. The other team member is Assistant Brewer Glenn Kervin who, apart from his intensive brewing work, is engaging in equipment installation and maintenance tasks.
