Pruitt Machinery, Inc., was originally founded in 1971 by Howard L. Pruitt, Jr., to serve the woodworking industries of Western North Carolina, Western South Carolina, and Eastern Tennessee. The company has grown from a one-man office to a complete sales organization with warehouse and showroom facilities, parts and service departments. Likewise, our geographical coverage has increased to a regional concentration and extends beyond the national level.
Jeff Gilchrist, President, joined the company as a salesman in 1977 and became part owner in 1985. As of June 1, 1994, Jeff became sole stockholder and President of Pruitt Machinery, Inc. Jeff continues to travel areas of North and South Carolina and Tennessee in addition to overseeing day-to-day operations.
We are located at 25-23rd Street, NW, in Hickory, occupying a 17,000 square-foot facility. We have been at this location for almost 4 years and are enjoying the capability of having all of our equipment in one location.
