- In May 2003, the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) and the Railway Association of Canada (RAC) signed a ( three-year) memorandum of understanding (MOU) to build common approaches to the prevention and resolution of issues that arise when people live and work in close proximity to railway operations. In January 2007, the FCM and the RAC signed a new (two-year) MOU to continue to build upon the successes achieved in 2003-2006.
