Description
The Coalition to Protect America's Health Care is an organization of hospitals; national, state and metro hospital associations; and businesses that fund advertising designed to raise hospital and health care issues to a high level of visibility in our communities. The first phase of the Coalition's national multi-media campaign focused on relief from the Balanced Budget Act's (BBA) Medicare and Medicaid spending cuts. National and local television, radio and print ads alerted consumers to the threat the BBA posed to their hospitals. These ads were one element of a hospital-field wide effort that resulted in restoration of $12.5 billion that had been stripped from hospitals by the BBA.
Recent Coalition ads focused on the precarious financial condition of many American hospitals and the incredible pressures they face day-in and day-out. These ads encouraged action by the Congress to help hospitals make ends meet by increasing payments for vital patient services provided under Medicare and Medicaid.
The health care policy decisions made in Washington affect patients and communities across America. Making sure these decisions are the right decisions requires the participation of every hospital and health system, and of any other organization or individual who understands the importance of protecting America's health care.
