Why we're doing this
- To make categories a useful resource
We know we are done when
- When we have produced a list of the categories we plan on keeping
- When we have deleted the categories not on the list
- Categories created by the bot are checked against a category black-list
Project Tasks
- Remove categories from the list that do not:
- contain related wikipages
- help make connections
- Create list of staff created categories
- email adult content categories to Mark
- Rewrite bot to stop creating new categories
- Recruit community members to help with the project

Process
Open the Category Sorting Tool (You may have to log out, then log back in). We'd like to sort the largest categories first, so scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the link containing the categories with the most links. Most of these categories won't be useful, since there are so many links and the category names are too broad.
Discard Examples
- Any misspelled categories
- Also anything like Java_Script instead of Javascript
- Categories that don't have a majority of related domains (eg Music_Lyrics seems good, but the sites in it are all over the place)
- Pretty
- Salmon
- Windows 2003
- 45
- Geo
- Congregation
- Tech Support
- Major Companies
- Solving
