- Like so many children growing up in Australia, reptiles were a ever present part of an outdoor lifestyle. I'll never forget the day spent in our study trying to remove a rather large and grumpy Blue-Tongue from under the day bed. Similarly, we had a massive Pogona barbata who would make use of our fence to bask each morning. We even named him (Maurice) and would marvel at his seeming indifference to our presence.
