IBM has a new article by Ramon de Carvalho Valle about buffer overflow vulnerabilities in Linux running on Power/Cell Broadband Engine Architecture processor-based servers. Buffer overflows occur when a process tries to store data outside of the bounds of a fixed-length buffer and can allow arbitrary remote execution in some circumstances.
