- The HOPE worldwide Positive Choice program is supported by a 2004 Special Projects of Regional and National Significance (SPRANS) grant from the Department of Heath and Human Services. The SPRANS Community-Based Abstinence Education (CBAE) grants support efforts to develop abstinence-until-marriage education for adolescents. The purpose of the Positive Choice program is to educate young people and create an environment within communities that supports adolescent decisions to postpone sexual activity until marriage. The Positive Choice program provides technical assistance and capacity building for faith-based organizations by developing, recruiting, training, and mentoring Peer Educators to implement abstinence-until-marriage programs within their own adolescent youth groups and to expand the programs to educate the adolescents in their local community.
