P.O.S. Records is about artists, development and community. It is about making music. It is about getting music out to people to be heard and enjoyed. It is about going forward- about using technology to push the music and the business in new directions. It is about working hard. And, of course, it is about selling records.
The concept is not unique. The idea of forming a record label to sell records is not a new one. However, P.O.S. Records is refreshingly different. It’s fundamental purpose is to allow artists the ability to create music without dictating image, style, sound. The function is to help artists get their music out and into the hands of the listeners.
Start with Hoboken. The mile square city has a vibrant musical community and a history of producing successful artists. The idea of any record label creating these artists is nonsense. On the contrary, artists need a place to create, develop and record their work. But where?
