Portal or Search
So now the question is -- what do do with that traffic. One school of thought that was fashionable, then unfashionable, and is now fashionable again is the notion of owning the front door. Late 90's was about portals, then early 00's about search (Google). So aboutus has a bit of that front doorness what with all the traffic filing through each day.
- Don't think about it as portals or search ... it's neither of those. It's about the commons. We're not doing a good job of communicating this right now ... need to improve.
- The front page does feel very portal ... as does the LASIK page (and I think the LASIK page has great potential)
