WWW.POLICEORDERS.CO.UK is a site to assist family historians trace their ancestors who worked in London (Except the square mile). Using years of manual data Entry, The late Spike Hughes BEM and a small team created a database resource that currently stands at over 500,000 entries and covers the years 1829 - 1945.
This resource has helped hundreds of people trace their police ancestors and to give an inside into their career. Many people used the information received to gain access to a wealth of other information remaining in the police orders or pension records.
There is presently no other police orders database of this size available containing such an extensive list of police orders.
Original Police orders can be viewing at the National Archive.
